Personalized Christmas Gifts for Your Husband

Write the sentence first, then choose what to put it on. Something you would say to your husband can be too long for a lighter, or too private for a wallet he opens at a checkout counter, so it helps to have the words before you shop. Here are six kinds of message, each matched to the place it fits, followed by a short note on each gift.

Six messages and where they go

• Your initials and his with a plus sign, such as "J + M". A monogram like that sits in the middle of the flat front of the Black Steel Flask.

Notes on the six gifts

Watch Roll

One, two or three watches, each in a padded slot with fleece lining. Engraving the back as well costs extra. It's covered in brown or black ostrich-style PU on a rigid frame. The two-slot roll measures 5.59 x 3.90 x 2.80 in and weighs 235 g (8.3 oz). The engraving reads light beige, in one of six designs or from your own logo file. It comes in a gift box, and the watches are up to you.

Personalized Metal Wallet

The clip carries his name on every engraved wallet. Add the back plate for the hidden message, and the gift box if you want the box itself to say something when he opens it on Christmas morning. The wallet is 7075 aluminum, 59 g (2.1 oz), and holds up to six cards, or five if they're embossed. A button pushes the cards up so he can take one. With 32 magnets in the shell, it can ride on the back of a magnetic phone. The clip comes off on two screws. Silver, black, blue or green.

Engraved Zippo Lighter

TC4 titanium, 5.20 in long, 51 g (1.8 oz), in silver or gold. The cap, the body or both can be engraved, and the gift box can be added. Engraved letters come out darker than the titanium. It comes with one refill.

Black Steel Flask

It holds 6 oz, has two flat faces and measures 4.76 x 3.54 x 0.91 in, and the cap screws on so it won't leak. Both faces take engraving, and it comes out bright against the black. Hand wash it.
