Engraved cigar accessories sorted by where he smokes, at home, on the golf course or away for a few days, with ring gauge and capacity answers at the end.
Before you pick a cigar gift, think about where he smokes. The man with a chair on the back porch wants something different from the golfer who carries one cigar for the back nine. Then there's the traveler, who packs a few for a week away. We sorted our cigar accessories by those three places.
When he smokes at home
For the porch or the garage, the Cigar Cutter & Lighter Set gives him a matching guillotine cutter and torch lighter, cast in zinc alloy and finished to look aged, in bronze or silver. The cutter is 3.74 inches long. Its double-blade opening is 0.91 inch (23 mm) across, which takes cigars up to 56 ring gauge. The lighter has a single adjustable torch flame and runs on butane, but it ships empty, so give him a can of butane with it. On this set the engraving reads black. Engraving options run from the lighter alone up to lighter, cutter and box together.
Some men keep complaining about cigars that draw too tight. The Cigar Enhancer is a 4-in-1 tool for that. Its alloy body with stainless steel heads screws apart into four pieces: a draw cleaner, a pick, a double punch and a drill needle. Assembled, it measures 6.18 inches long and 0.63 inch across and weighs 1.4 oz. Choose gold or black. It comes in a gift box, and you can have the box engraved along with the tool.
On the golf course
Out on the course, what matters is how many cigars he brings and whether he remembers a cutter.
One cigar fits the Cigar Travel Tube. It's made of brass and stainless steel and closes with a snap-fit airtight cap. Any cigar of 54 ring gauge or less, 7 inches long at most, goes inside. The tube itself is 7.01 inches long and weighs 5.0 oz. It comes in gold or silver with a gift box. We engrave the center band, where the lettering reads black, and the cap top and the box are extras.
The 2-Cigar Travel Case is a telescopic hard shell in PU with an embossed ostrich pattern. Closed, it measures 7.09 x 3.15 x 1.61 inches, and it pulls out longer for cigars up to 7.5 inches. At 4.6 oz it comes in black, brown or green. This one is a case only, with no cutter inside.
If he forgets cutters, go for the 3-Cigar Travel Case. The lid is a magnetic flip-top, and a double-blade guillotine cutter is part of the case itself. Three cigars fit, each up to 6.5 inches long. The case measures 6.61 x 2.91 x 1.38 inches and weighs 4.7 oz. The shell is hard, covered in PU, in black or brown.
Traveling for a few days
Despite its name, the Travel Humidor Set is a case for the road. It isn't meant to keep cigars for months. Four cigars fit with the removable wooden tray in. Lift the tray out and there's room for up to 8, depending on their size. A strap keeps them in place over the cedar lining. Moisture comes from a wooden strip with holes in it, fitted on the side where the cutter and lighter sit. Fill it with distilled water only, or skip the water and use a two-way humidity pack such as Boveda. The lid opens flat to 180 degrees. A guillotine cutter and a butane torch lighter come with the case, and the lighter ships empty. Outside, it's ostrich-style PU in black or brown, 7.87 x 5.39 x 2.76 inches, and it weighs 2 lb 4 oz with the cutter and lighter packed.
For a bigger supply there's the Cigar Gift Box, a book style case in PU shaped like a hardcover book. It measures 10.24 x 6.50 x 1.65 inches and weighs 26.1 oz. The mahogany lining holds a removable wooden tray: 5 cigars with it in, up to 10 with it out. The side compartment holds a humidifier topped by a round hygrometer, and the guillotine cutter sits beneath them. This one is also for carrying, but without a strap, a seal or a hard shell. Both of these cases take engraving on the front or on front and back, and it comes out light beige.

Up to 56 ring gauge. The opening on the set's guillotine cutter is 0.91 inch (23 mm) wide.
Will his cigars fit the tube?
If they're 54 ring gauge or thinner and no longer than 7 inches, yes. The inside of the Cigar Travel Tube is 0.87 inch (22 mm) across.
How many cigars does each case hold?
Two in the 2-Cigar Travel Case (up to 7.5 inches long) and three in the 3-Cigar Travel Case (up to 6.5 inches). The Travel Humidor Set takes 4 with its tray in and up to 8 without it, and the Cigar Gift Box takes 5 with the tray and up to 10 without. For those last two, the exact count depends on how big his cigars are.
